Flaming Lips, 24 Hour Long Song- Tucked In A Skull

The Flaming Lips will stream their new 24 hour-long song on Halloween day at midnight, Oklahoma time. Yes! A 24 hour-long song, what are they thinking? How such a long thing can keep the listener interested? I guess it will be more background music than a chorus-sing-along-anthem, but Wayne Coyne said to the LATimes that he hopes ‘it has a lot of hooks’, ‘Or one really … good one’, and explaining further ‘We’re kind of going by the idea that some music is not meant for intense listening, some music is just there with you.’

And for your information, the 24-hour track will be ‘stored on a memory stick that will be placed inside a human skull’,…. Let's Wayne explain:

‘It’s a giant, actual human skull. Not everyone can have them, but the guy I’m buying them from is allowed to sell them.’
‘This guy has had his shop since 1983; he’s in Oklahoma City. So I thought it was just a normal thing, 'Hey, we’ll buy a human skull.' He has a big place where he gets skulls from all over the world. And not just human skulls: He also has elephant skulls and hippo skulls. You can get almost anything.’

What? It sounds really creepy but this time it is quite appropriate because it is Halloween time.
