Silver Snakes out of Los Angeles list Smashing Pumpkins, Quicksand and Lack as their influences and lean heavy on their 90's generation. The video below has all the fuzzy feedback and grungy angst of their heroes. Their intensity is ridiculous (and wonderful!)We snagged five minutes for five questions with Alex Astrada (guitar/vocals) he gave us five minutes for five questions about his Animal Style Records band.
1- What gets you moving and motivated?
kale and the desire to leave Los Angeles as much as possible.
2- What’s your tour horror or glory story?
Drunk sound guy pulled a knife on me in Kansas when I commented on the awful job he was doing. Oh and last night, our bass player woke up from a drunken nightmare and threw his iPhone out the window while we were on the highway outside of New Orleans. It was glorious.
3- Wake up in the morning.. first thought?
The DVD menu from curb your enthusiasm is loud as hell.
4- What is your 'guilty pleasure' or song people would be suprised is on your ipod?
I have a lot of Brazilian music in my collection. I love samba from the 70s. I also really like the Nelly Furtado record that timbaland produced.
5- What’s one thing you want the world to know about your group?
Quicksand isn't really an Influence on this band. We just say that because old dudes love hearing it.
Old dudes and Old broads.. I think they's pretty fantastic (Editor's note: this guy is fucking awesome)
