One Direction released a new song called "Little Things" and I love it so much. I nearly teared up when I first heard it. It's not one of those love songs that are obnoxious and stereotypical and boring. It's a gentle, perfect balance of harmonies and guitar. Typically, I'm not touched by any 1D tune; they're just fun and poppy and catchy. But this song is a huge step forward. It kind of almost sounds like an Ed Sheeran song- the reason? It is an Ed Sheeran song. Both he and 1D put together this masterpiece. I can't even imagine any way that this tune could be improved. The boys are all so vocally talented, and no one could've sung it better than them. Sheeran is a phenomenal songwriter and it shines through here. Though I'm a firm believer in the fact that he can indeed do anything, the dynamic of all the different voices drove it home.
Together, their voices are a powerhouse; tightly woven and flawless. However, separated, they are gorgeous and a reminder that every member of One Direction could have a successful solo career. I just can't get over this song- I keep on hitting "replay".
I can understand if you don't like any of One Direction's songs- some people don't dig the whole "boyband" thing. However, this song is unlike anything else they've ever done. I can't stop listening. I'm in love with this song. It's the best they've ever done, and it's definitely best the love song Sheeran has ever written. It has so many elements and the lyrics are incredibly deep and stark and honest.
This isn't a song you should dismiss 'cause you're too "cool" for 1D, or 'cause you think "they suck because they're just trying to be like NSYNC" or whatever. No. Listen to it. You'll fall in love with it.
