Five With A Bullet: Indian School

Here's the concept: rock nyc has thrown five questions into cyberspace and  some of the coolest bands around got back and we will be posting their answers! Thereby, giving you the opportunity to get to know the brains behind todays vibrant music scene.

Indian School is a band out of Los Angeles, California.   Signed to Animal Style Records, their album "The Cruelest Kind” is out now.  Below their video for "Head Right", has a contagious hook and a clean and upbeat sound.  Born of a pretty serious tragedy of repeated car accidents (Arturo: LOOK BOTH WAYS!), you cant help but think fate intervened.  Using his recovery time to think things through, Barrios determined it was time to call together his former band mates and start again.  And here they are, fabulously redesigned.

We stole five minutes for five questions with Arturo Barrios the bands singer and songwriter and car crash survivor

1-      What gets you moving and motivated?
It comes down to making music that isn't shit. Music, even in the underground/punk/indie scene has become awfully mediocre.

2-      What’s your tour horror or glory story?
Well with my old band Audio Karate, I had a girl go kinda nuts and follow me from Germany to England. That night in England she followed us to the house we were staying at and I woke up with her hand down my pants. True Story

3-      Wake up in the morning.. first thought?
 "what a nightmare"

4-      What is your 'guilty pleasure' or song people would be suprised is on your ipod?
I'm a sucker for singer songwriters of the 70/80's. Rod Stewart, Phil Collins, Billy Joel

5-      What’s one thing you want the world to know about your group?
I was in 2 car accidents, by all accounts I should be dead or at least paralyzed. It's the reason I decided to make music again
