I went to Electric Zoo last year and yeah I went VIP but I disliked the vibe enough, though not always the music, to pass on it in 2014. It was what it was, heavy duty, dance, drugs, rave by the light of day. And two people die. Stuff happens. Yeah it is a tragedy, guess what, so is everything else. Life is a tragic business.
So now, the Electric Zoo wanna sell us on a ecstasy less rave weekend: the moral equivalent of going on a grub call and only drnking soda. It is really simple: EDM functions better on drugs. Sad? Perhaps. But it is not alone, psychedelia functioned better on psychedelics, punk was better with speed, jam bands with weed, disco with coke. And there will always be people who die, that’s just the way it goes.
But Electric Zoo are gonna harass the fucking bejesus out of their clientele. This is off Billboard:

Yeah, well Molly is as Molly does so please allow me to politely blow em a raspberry. Kids take drugs, some grow out of it some die, that’s life a crap shoot.
The PSA is pretty good, a guy is trying to pick up a girl but the drug is taking over. I is quite scary and you can see his missed opportunity. But it is silly and besides the point. How would it go if a) they were both high or b) he wasn’t ODing?
