International Actress and Comedian Leaves Audiences Stunned at the Legendary DIME Club
In a comedy festival packed with some of the biggest names in entertainment, one performer managed to do something almost impossible: completely surprise the audience.
International actress and comedian Despina Mirou delivered a breakout live performance at the world-famous Netflix Is a Joke Festival 2026 at the historic DIME Club in Hollywood, instantly becoming one of the most talked-about personalities of the night.
Performing alongside established American comedians including Josh Spear, Adam Hunter, Greg Wilson, Sammy Larsen, Genia Gulot, and others, Despina brought a style of comedy rarely seen on today’s stand-up stages — fearless improvisation mixed with theatrical character work, international accents, physical comedy, and complete unpredictability.
Her performance, titled “All About No Sex,” hilariously explored the differences between Americans and Europeans in relationships and intimacy. Moving rapidly between characters and nationalities, Despina transformed herself onstage into exaggerated versions of Greeks, Italians, French, Germans, Spaniards, Turks, British personalities, and Americans, changing her voice, rhythm, posture, and body language in seconds. Her monologue for this show was inspired by Bernie Mac.

Yet despite the overwhelming amount of star power surrounding the festival, Despina Mirou managed to carve out her own unforgettable moment.
This appearance also marks her third Netflix-related project. Her first Netflix appearance came in the hit series “On My Block” in 2019, followed by her participation in Netflix Is a Joke in 2022.
Industry insiders have increasingly described Despina as a rare hybrid performer — part actress, part improvisational comic, part live-performance artist.
