“Hello There!

Just a few sweet, springtime things to report….
Joe’s Pub – “Questions: An Evening with David Bronson”
Monday, July 6 @ 7pm
Just announced and tickets are now ON SALE NOW for what will certainly be an amazing summer night, as the full Questions band and I play at the one and only Joe’s Pub, which has been called the best live music venue in NYC. There will also be a world premier of a short film on the making of the record.
So reserve your seats now, this one will probably sell out.”
If David Bronson had released Questions, August 2015 instead of January 2015, it would be ending near the top of many a best of the year poll, as it is, to hear Questions is to fall in love and to hear it again, as I just did after discovering his July 6th gig at Joe’s Pub is to fall in love again.
Rockwoods wasn’t a great fit earlier this year, Joe’s Pub is a better venue, with a larger stage and a better vibe for this soulful folk man, or do I mean this folkie soulman, it will give him the room he needs to perform (the Brooklyn Bowl gig was better because the stage was larger), and Joe’s Pub is for adults, it is part of the Public Theatre, it is pop as art venue.
A must see.
More info:
“David Bronson recently released his third album Questions (Big Arc Records). The record has been hailed by fans and press alike as one of the best albums to emerge in 2015, and as a momentous artistic step from an up-and-coming talent who has been called “one of the most heartfelt and emotionally raw new artists in music” (Guitar World). The singer-songwriter, who has called New York City his home for his entire adult life, teamed up with veteran producer Godfrey Diamond (Lou Reed, Etta James, Aerosmith) and longtime David Bowie collaborators Carlos Alomar and Robin Clark to create a soul-drenched paean to the uncertainties of burgeoning adulthood. It’s a deceptively fluid amalgam of soul, gospel, folk, and dance-funk grafted on to the classic 70’s-infused singer-songwriting Bronson has become known for.
The evening will include the world premiere of an original short film showing the story of the album’s creation, in addition to a full set with David and the Questions band. The event will be hosted by NYC-based journalist and music historian Christian John Wikane.
