The rough, tough, manly (even with makeup on) English metal band Cradle of Filth is the loud scary band to beat all loud scary bands. Explaining the idea behind their latest album, it’s most certainly intriguing. To see a long-haired, very intimidating and disturbing looking musician say that the album “was a lot of fun” for some reason made me kind of laugh a bit. His personality doesn’t seem to match his appeance. The band is very talented, and I’m glad their makeup and appearance isn’t just an act to make up for bad music (cough, Slipknot), they’re good and they dress that way.
When Dani was talking, I realized albums with a backstory and listening to the tale straight from the artist’s mouth (which sounds cooler with an accent) is something irreplacable and sure different than just reading it. I’m super excited to see the “amazing artwork” Dani explains because seeing interesting illustrations to go along with a CD is one of the best and most memorable things a band can do. The album seems very well though out, especially the story, and I will, without a doubt, be suggesting it to my metal-obsessed friends and I’ll be looking into it myself. It seems like a huge disturbing scary creepy nightmare-esque fun time.
