My Fave Tracks Saturday September 24th, 2010 by Iman Lababedi

1. Block Rockin’ Beats – The Chemical Brothers – Whenever I think of these guys nowadays all I can imagine is Lily Allen having an abortion. This song is a whirl of sound like a modern dance template. All squeaks squeals and thunders and a Schoolly D, the original gangsta, sample.
2. Helpless – Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young – I know the proof is the record but sometimes it is hard to remember Neil  could ever write a song this beautiful. Those people who still suck at his nipple are doing him a disservice.
3. Everything – A Cursive Memory – The sound of a clashing emo band and much better than it should be.
4. On And Ever Onward – Dirty Projectors – One of the best songs of the year -like at least top 10, maybe top 5.
5.Sex Karma (feat Solange) – Of Montreal – I’ve bought another song off the album but that one is a  drag.
6. Requiem For Omm 2 – Of Montreal – “I never ever stop wondrin, wondrin if you ever stop and think of us…” I far prefer this stuff to their current stuff.
7. Invisible Light – Scissor Sisters – Steve Diamond told me they killed at Terminal 5 -if they’d been at Radio City? Idda gone. One of the best songs of the year as well.
9. Unnundir Skinni – Olof Arnalds – Surreal beautiful song off the Icelandic singers recently released. It is exquisite in its smallest touches, a barely murmured background harmonizing that just pleases and disappears.
10. Smart Girls – Weezer
