A few days ago I received an email about some secret shows, ‘A very Special Performance from Coldplay’, scheduled for March 21st and 22nd. Since it’s 1Iota.com, I thought it was once again for the Jimmy Kimmel Live. Not sure because they don’t say anything but anyone can try, it’s free… and after all I won one for Paul McCartney, so everything is possible…. Not that I even like Coldplay but they are kind of a big deal, right?
The band just performed at SXSW, where they debuted new songs – I heard ‘Magic’ on the radio this morning and got quickly distracted – but Chris Martin is back in Los Angeles. Then this morning, the radio Alt 98.7 sent me another email about a Coldplay secret show? Is it the same one? Probably! To win you have to call the station at certain hours and be a caller with a certain number, but of course you never get through!
However, on the radio station website, they were talking about some rumors, and by Zeus, I had no idea! Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are splitting? What? The perfect couple failed? I hate to be sarcastic about other people’s drama but these two seemed to have the perfect life of Hollywood-via-London snobs, with private tutors for their children teaching them Latin, Greek and Japanese, with Gwyneth’ fitness web series and especially her Goop website to encourage readers to ‘nourish the inner aspect’…. Well it seems that the marriage is on the rocks according to gossip sites like this one… so I wonder whether we will be able to get some hints from the next album ‘Ghost Stories’? Whom is Martin taking about when he sings ‘I don’t, no I don’t, no I don’t, no I don’t/ Want anybody else but you’ in this new ‘Magic’ tune? The song is quite nostalgic and regretful, it’s not really happy, it’s not even a hit, and it’s pretty forgettable, probably just like Gwyneth. Now give me one of these free tickets!
