Coachella is approaching fast, and again I am not going and happy about it. But what’s new on the polo grounds?
First of all you should know that the selfie sticks have been banned! These things allow people to take pictures of themselves much farther away from their face, while standing on front of stages and other typical spots… well, it won’t be possible this year. Coachella dismissed them as ‘narsisstics’ (yes, Coachella should hire some editors for their website) items! As if it wasn’t a given that Coachella goers were narcissistic people! Although the list of forbidden items does not always make sense for me – no blankets and no chairs, really why? – I totally understand why sticks are banned, you could easily kill someone with these things. Plus imagine yourself standing behind one hundred people holding a selfie stick with a camera, no fun!
In other Coachella-related news, say goodbye to porta-potties, and there are pictures to prove it! Curbed LA has posted a few pictures, and these have real and permanent bathrooms!! They will be located in the “terrace” section of the venue, and the concrete block building will hold 324 stalls… Many food vendors will be in the terrace area which is very convenient, and the toilets will be open to everyone, not to VIPs only.
So Coachella is getting fancier and fancier every year, and this goes with all the rest, the fancy restaurants, the 3-course meals, the VIP packages, the $2,000 a night hotels, the H&M’s pop-up shop, the fashion, the numerous desert parties, and the parade of celebrities.
The toilets look very good but are 324 enough? Plus I don’t want to see the place after millions of festival-goers have peed, pooped and vomited all over the place…
distinct and wondrous without being obvious or obnoxious
except for the title track the songs are on vacation
simultaneously self-effacing and egomaniacs
essentially a disco remix of “Rocket Man” featuring one of the the UK’s biggest stars…
“I literally really need you to jump up and down”
Friday night might kill us but Thursday evening is a blast
it just isn’t the triumph she needed after six years
an impressive sonic ride.
a high-spirited Post Pandemic anthem
