Cliff Richard Denies Sexual Assault Allegations As The New Witch Trails Gains Steam

Sir Cliff: Allegations Are False

Sir Cliff: Allegations Are False

I realize that where there is smoke there may be fire but this is way out of hand right now. A man has come forward to claim he was sexually assaulted by UK singer Cliff Richard when the man was 15 years old (younger than 16 to be precise) at a religious rally for Billy Graham in 1985. Sir Cliff has said:

“For many months I have been aware of allegations against me of historic impropriety, which have been circulating online. The allegations are completely false.

“Up until now, I have chosen not to dignify the false allegations with a response, as it would just give them more oxygen. However, the police attended my apartment in Berkshire today without notice, except, it would appear, to the press. I am not presently in the UK but it goes without saying that I will cooperate fully should the police wish to speak to me.”

This is on the heels of Conor Oberst having his career derailed via a false sexual assault claim.

At least Conor’s assault charge, despite there being zero proof (and the accuser has admitted she lied), was in the immediate past, the claim against Cliff is THIRTY YEARS OLD. That means a 45 year old man has come forward to claim he was assaulted by Richard. the mind completely boggles.

With zero proof, this guy has caused Cliff a huge huge problem and it isn’t right. If you can’t decide to claim someone out for rape within a certain time frame, and if you have no proof whatsoever, how is possible you can just make this claim? It is ridiculous. Look: if you were indeed having gay sex with Cliff when you were 15 (the age of consent in the UK is 16), you should not be allowed to make the charge decades decades and decades later.

This is a witch hurt and it hurts everybody.
