On December 14th, 2009 the Clash’s world proclaimed masterpiece London Calling. I had bought the 25th year anniversary but might plonk down the loot on this one as well though I’d prefer a complete version of The Clash.
I read an interview with Mick Jones recently where he remembered that the “London Calling” Strummer lyric was initially a put down of poseurs on the scene until Mick told Joe that wasn’t much of a call to arms so Joe rewrote em.
PS Am I the only one who wonders why the Clash haven’t sued Say Anything for their “Rudy Can’t Fail” rewrite “I Hate Everyone”.
