Honestly how long has this been going on? Celebrities are paid lots of money to attend Coachella? What a surprise! Yeah I am not even surprised but this doesn’t mean it’s a good thing. According to different sources (such as LAist and the NY Daily News) celebrities you see at Coachella are not always there only for the fun of a music festival, they are paid big bucks to attend it! Glee’s Lea Michele received $20,000 to party at Coachella, wearing Lacoste clothing, while Disney star Vanessa Hudgens will represent McDonald’s – a always very noble cause – at Coachella for $15,000… what does it mean? She is going to walk around with chicken nuggets stuffed in her face? Or she is going to do some strip tease in front of the fast food truck? I don’t know what representing McDonald’s means but she doesn’t have a physic even close to that of someone feeding on Mcburgers.
LAist adds that Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul is asking for $15,000 to attend the festival plus 2 VIP passes, while Kate Bosworth is asking for double and Joe Jonas will just be happy with $20,000. According to Reddit, Aaron Paul met his wife at Coachella, so he should be grateful for that and pay for his own ticket! How self-important are you when you reach the point to ask for a price just for showing up?
Who knows how much all these celebrities have received in the past, and I always wonder why we are treating these people like royalties while people like me can’t even afford to go there! I am not even asking for any cash, just a ticket would be nice, I will wear whatever you want, name me your brand, even anything unwearable from Urban Outfitters, anything from Guess, Free People, H&M, Vans,… you name your hip brand! Toms, Rampage, Citizens of Humanity, New Balance, yeah you need good shoes for all this walking and I have run all my marathons with New Balance shoes, does it count?
