There sure was a heap of hoopla over that Led Zeppelin countdown. The kids went crazy and the geezers started hand wringin’. Could it be? Led Zep back together and live on tour??
Yeah, no. I can’t even imagine why anyone would expect this. Should it ever happen it would be similar to The Rolling Stones tour- priced out of your league and 90% of the stadium already spoken for. Mark my words the ‘common man’ wouldn’t have a shot in hell to get in.
So how about a movie, Sucker? See this isn’t even from their glory days but a grey and bearded Plant and Paige from 2007. The band broke up in 1980 after the death of John Bonham- there had to be some footage of a show including him, right?
Instead fans are being fed this 5 year old plate of tired rock and roll. I would be all for this were from their mega days, that would be cool That 70s look that insane energy but to see aged Zep-sters performing their ‘hits’ simply is not a scene for anyone. Other than the diehard fan – of which there are too many.
Oh well, this show was the first in 27 years and according to reports there were 20 million people applying for 18,000 tickets. What the hell is wrong with you people?
Anyway,
"It's a unique opportunity to savor what is likely to be Led Zeppelin's final performance," Cineworld said.
The band, one of rock's biggest acts with global album sales estimated at up to 300 million, played 16 songs on the night including hits like "Whole Lotta Love", "Kashmir" and "Stairway to Heaven".
The poster promoting the film features a cartoon of a zeppelin airship against a red sky above London's Houses of Parliament, reminiscent of the artwork on the band's 2007 compilation album "Mothership".
Keep in mind that lighters are illegal in movie theaters and don’t go screaming ‘fire’…it’s a movie, calm down. October 17th is he screening day. Get your flares on rock star./
Following is the track listing of the upcoming film, which will last just over two hours.
