Its not easy for me to hate Brand. He's so rock and roll did a great job in 'Get Him To The Greek' and he just looks cool. The slurry Brit speak the pin thin legs, what's not to love?
I'll tell you what's not to love.. his new show on FX, Brand X. I missed this shows premiere last week but did have the wherewithal to record it and decided to watch it today. Holy hell……
Brand and a nameless sidekick (he ain't no Ed McMahon) tortured me for 13 minutes before I pulled the plug. A never ending blurb for his meeting the the Dali Llama. For the record he pronounced his name four different ways within the span of his monolog which leaves me to wonder how valid that accent is. I do believe Mr Brand amps it up for the US market.
The audience were poorly edited and when the camera pans across they are laughing hysterically if not maniacally– yet nothing funny has been said.
You would think someone as shallow as I can be would have toughed it out for the visual alone…nope. Brands stylist must have been on loan from Steven Tyler cuz all that was missing was the scarves….wtf up with the beige elf boots??
I will give this sad little program one more shot but really to babble on about nothing for a half our is something I can only tolerate in myself.
