Not much Bowie action lately. Ever since his 2004 tour that was cut short by what he thought was a pinched nerve in his shoulder turning out to be heart problems that required surgery. Serious stuff and since a quite Thin White Duke.
A couple of weeks after we repoorted he was seen getting in a cab, the paparazzi found the man though, in Gotham no less picking up some food at Bottega Faliai Café’. Bowie and his wife Iman live in lower Manhattan.
The British newspaper ‘The Telegraph’ reported the big news about the rare sighting, noting that the once stylish star was wearing plain ol’ jeans, a gray cap and a hoodie. The publication also took the opportunity to note that the Thin White Duke was looking pale, saying his “appearance reignites health fears” and rumors about his health “have been circulating ever since his ill fated 2004 tour.”
Sad isn’t it? The aging of a legend. To be stalked while grabbing some pasta is a good and bad thing. Its good to see him living a normal life, its not so good to have him describe as such. But wait, isn’t David famous for being pale? Yes! Lets take it that way rather than fragile.
I don’t suppose we will have any new music from the master of all chameleons but its always nice to pause and remember his fantastic career. I don’t want him to turn in to the ‘Wheres Waldo’ or “Howard Hughes” of music. I just want him to be healthy and happy in whatever he does.
