Having seen her husband at MSG last year, I am even more excited to see the terrific crazy ex-girlfriend herself, the platinum country gal, and the personality to burn face of the modern side of country Miranda Lambert. Saturday night… it should be one of the concerts of the year.
Monday – Laura Marling – Warsaw – Plus band though the setlist misses her best song off, well, off just about everything. Stil… we will get “Strange”.
Monday – San Cisco – Mercury Lounge – I’m not crazy about the new one, still, hard to find a smaller club or a a better time (630pm). Plus, Alyson Camus digs em.
Tuesday – Action Bronson – Terminal 5 – I love Action Bronson, he is a weird one, he is like a wildly insecure rap guy with a great voice. But a sold out T5 to see him? Eek!
Tuesday – Brandon Flowers – Webster Hall – Wow, the Killers leader can’t see out Webster Hall???
Tuesday – Debbie Harry – Café Carlyle – I guess that’s what happens when you hit 70.
Wednesday – Kate Tempest – Rough Trade – A great poet, a great rapper, if I wasn’t seeing her at Governors Ball I would absolutely be there.
Wednesday – Kid Creole And The Coconuts – BB Kings August Darnell and Coati Mundi!! Still a wonderful thing, baby.
Wednesday – The Weeklings – The Bitter End – Beatle fans and power pop smarties, and what a better way to honor Kenny Gorka’s memory.
Thursday – Neil Diamond – Back to Brooklyn, plus he has stopped flogging that dog album down to two tracks!
Saturday – Bjork – City Center – Should be an interesting day… Bjork in the afternoon, Miranda at night!
