Band Aid 30 years On Returns

won't somebody think about the children?
won’t somebody think about the children?

Do you remember where you were the first time you heard “Do They Know It’s Christmas”? Thankfully I’ve managed to erase it from my memory banks, I think I’m repressing it. Maybe it will return one day when I don’t expect it, I’ll just start crying uncontrollably , shaking, bawling, a mess.

Till then, no I don’t remember where but I do know when: 30 years ago when Bob Geldof got upset about starvation in Ethiopia and did what any real man would do about it: wrote an abysmal song and got his pop star buddies together, recorded it and foisted the dog with fleas  on an unsuspecting UK public.

Kool And The Gang?

Anyway, now comes word that Geldof is remaking it and so far One Direction have definitely signed on and Adele, Alt-J and Florence +The Machine are in the wings, but could they please just choose another song? Apparently it is to help Ebola which doesn’t seem to need any help in my honest opinion.
