Holy fuck! Bad Religion has just announced a show at the Echo in Los Angeles on January 23rd! Yes, the Echo, the very small club on Sunset boulevard where I so often go,… I guess it will be very hard to get tickets (very cheap by the way, $10-13) which will go on sale this Friday at 10 am via Ticketfly,… so much for people who are working!
I don’t know why Bad Religion is doing this, as they are usually playing large venues and headlining festivals, but if you are a fan it is an unique occasion to see the iconic punk band in an intimate venue.
They are of course about to release their 16th album ‘True North’ (available on January 22nd), and we can only guess they will be playing a few songs off this new material.
Meanwhile you can listen to the title song ‘True North’ below, just posted on YouTube a few weeks ago. It is a speedy (and short) track, very melodic and harmonious, with a damn catchy-anthemic chorus that Greg Graffin throws at your face like a little missile,.. no wait it is a sailor song, a energetic-riotous-sailor song in search of its own (moral) compass!
Here is the tracklist of the upcoming album:
1. "True North"
2. "Past Is Dead"
3. "Robin Hood in Reverse"
4. "Land of Endless Greed"
5. "Fuck You"
6. "Dharma and the Bomb"
7. "Hello Cruel World"
8. "Vanity"
9. "In Their Hearts Is Right"
10. "Crisis Time"
11. "Dept. of False Hope"
12. "Nothing to Dismay"
13. "Popular Consensus"
14. "My Head Is Full of Ghosts"
15. "The Island"
16. "Changing Tide"
