It’s a little play on words get it? August / Autumn? Meh, August Burns Red is a Christian metal-core band. I knew this hardcore Jesus freak who really dug them and although I do think they’re quite good- I wouldn’t consider them on the same level as say.. We Came As Romans. Now I am aware that ABR has more history, but as for melodic core? WeCaAr totally wins.
But that being said an August Burns Red tour is a great thing. An opportunity to scream and growl positivity with sweaty kids who will end up in some ministry or YWAM or something. So hold on to your wallet.
Supporting them will be Defeater (really?), BearTooth, and hot shot mo’fo’s Bless The Fall. Bless The Fall are the Mayday Parade of hardcore. They’re on every tour, are always the bridesmaid never the bride, and cant seem to leap to the next stage of popularity. Stuck. Unsure why, they’re fantastic live and recorded actually exceed expectation.
August Burns Red hits the road in support of their fifth studio album.. FIFTH and chances are you have no idea who they are, do ya?
“Rescue & Restore is about challenging other bands and ourselves, as well as fans of this music, to want more than whatever happens to be the current buzz,” August Burns Red guitarist/songwriter JB Brubaker said. What the hell sort of pull quote is that?!
The band just came off Warped so its just a month of rest before this new tour begins.. go get um.. Amen.
