On December 8th at the New york Public Library Lou Reed, drummer Maureen Tucker and bassist Doug Yule of the Velvet Underground will be discussing thir legacy. Sterling Morrison and Nico are dead and I don’t know where John Cale is.
Unfortunately, I heard about it too late to snag a $25 tix for the interview to be conducted by rock critic David Fricke.
Let’s hope they are taping it because, like the saying goes, only 1000 people saw the velvet Underground but every single one of them went on to form a band. Nobody in popular music has a bigger legacy to discuss.
