Circa Survive are hot as heck. So hot that their PR firm is incommunicado. The band is headed up the East Coast and makes a stop in Sayerville NJ this Saturday. A great band touring with Balance and Composure and a few other flavors of the week.
They had to cancel a date so be dang happy it was just the Michigan stop. Singer Anthony Green cracked a rib and this statement below is refreshingly honest and candid. “cracked a rib somehow’, is one of the best lines of any band statement ever.
Breaking ribs is almost as popular as getting tattoos. If you recall, Andy Biersak of Black Veil Brides carried out his tour wearing black electrical tape across his broken ribs after falling from a Marshall stack. Not knowing how it happened makes Circa Survive the cooler band. Just sayin’…
"Hello all.
We just wanted to make a quick statement about having to cancel our show in Ponitac MI. We’re very sorry we had to do this. We’ve only had to cancel a handful of shows in the past 8 years and it is always difficult. The decision was not difficult this time as Anthony was having trouble breathing and needed to get checked out. Unfortunately, he sustained a cracked rib somehow. The injury was in an area that was making it extremely difficult and painful for him to breathe. I’ve been around Anthony almost every day for 8 years. I’ve seen him perform through some serious pain and shrug off some injuries that as a friend I was begging him to go to the doctor for. He is a tough little dude and I know that canceling even this one show was very hard for him. Fortunately he is okay and after a few days rest we will be finishing out the rest of the tour as planned. We will do our best to get back to Michigan as soon as possible.
Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and understanding.
Much love,
Brendan and Circa."
