Is Rage Against The Machine Recording A New Album?

There is a rumor floating around, it’s only a rumor but in this day and age when you see numerous reunions of bands that have disbanded decades ago, why not another one? The rumor comes from a remark made by Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler during an interview with Metal insider. Although Rage Against The Machine's Brad Wilk has been drumming on Black Sabbath's upcoming LP, Butler was uncertain if he could be the drummer for Black Sabbath’s upcoming North America tour:

‘We're not sure yet [which drummer we will use]. We don't know because I think Brad's got commitments with Rage Against the Machine… It'll probably be either Tommy or Brad, depending on their commitment.’

And this was enough to start the rumor that RATM may have something coming up, a tour? An album? So far, nothing of this sort is scheduled and Tom Morello had already closed the debate in November when he said ‘There's no plans, no current direction of anything’.

They already did a sort of reunion in 2011 for Rising Festival, here in Los Angeles, and sadly I didn’t go. But if Morello stops touring with Bruce Springsteen – he has currently joined the E Street Band on their March Australian leg of the Wrecking Ball Tour – and when Brad Wilk is done with this Sound City Players business, may be we can expect something. At the end, who knows what’s going on, but many rumors turn to be true at the end, and RATM is one of the 13 bands that Rolling Stone would like to see tour in 2013.

So guys, record a new album and headline the 2013 FYF fest,… just an idea.
