The Strokes will release a new album in 2013? This is what a lot of media are saying and the source of the rumor comes from Seattle’s The End radio station 107.7, which posted this message on Facebook:
‘Previewing brand new Strokes "All the Time" thanks to RCA Records. We'll have to "leak" this soon. You won't be disappointed…’
They haven’t leaked it yet but since that time, the radio station has revealed they have actually heard two new songs, briefly described with the following sentence:
‘one was a more synth driven track, with the other (the aforementioned, "All The Time") packing a classic Strokes sound’.
Okay, that’s a beginning, but as RCA is keeping this upcoming full-length album very secretive, the radio station commented they couldn’t reveal release dates yet… an excellent way to keep fans in constant alert and to force them visiting their webpage/Facebook again and again. Plus it is an excellent deal for the station, which will premiere the single once it gets the green light from RCA Records.
This will be The Strokes’ fifth album, and despite the fact that their 2011‘Angles’ wasn’t that great (if I remember correctly) the band is still wildly popular judging from the reaction of the fans at the news… We’ll listen to the songs when they leak!
