Dinosaur Jr are one of those hip old man punk bands. They have a following that would etch their names in their arms and I never really understood why. They're a bit to 'arty punk' for me and well I just never caught on to their scene.
They're usually great with videos though. Using that art form to make you furrow your brow and provide numerous 'WTF' moments, which musical videos should convey. The video is your typical midlife crisis guy and I swear my neighbors car is in the opening scene DUDE that's your sound system!
D Jr sounds allot like the Foo Fighters and not in a good way but musically they're spot on. This video made me realize that I dislike the vocals but the rest is cool.
Back to the video- its somewhat pathetic especially in the charade behavior of the stereo shop sales folk but this is hick geared so it works. This video is awful. Just horrible.
The man who retreats to his car stereo and is transcended to a world of head butting Henry Rollins and the worried wife is so cliche' so utterly ridiculous that in just a video fragment I am proud not to be a fan. How cheaply done is the super imposed stereo faceplate? Who the hell is this Rain Wilson wanna be actor and why oh why did I subject myself to it all?
The band is good- the singer is not. Henry Rollins appears as a idiotic puppet and should be bitch slapped for taking part in this amateur hour video class failure.
This band has been around too long to serve up crap like this and if its an inside joke- you're more redneck than I originally thought.
