Grandpa put your teeth back in its time for those crazy Misfits to take another stab at it. These guys haven’t released an album since the 80’s. They’re old enough to be your dad (or grand dad) and they have THE coolest logo EVER. You can buy their stuff at Hot Topic by the way. It’s sorta like The Munsters but back in the day ..wooo wee doggy, they were cool as hell.
The album titled ” Dea.D. Alive! ‘will be released on February 5th. Why they are doing it is beyond me. I suppose enough of their old fans are still alive and their kitschy Halloween gigs always bring in the poser Goths so yeah, this should do well. The problem is , just as in watching The Munsters or other ‘old’ campy stuff- its dated. What was cool in 1988 isn’t so cool now. Neon legwarmers notwithstanding, the black liner stolen from Alice Cooper really does simply look like we robbed Alice Cooper, and scary freaks like Marilyn Manson sorta stole the thunder of any ‘dark’ factor.
But Misfits are legend and this new release will contain the concert filmed in Times Square on Halloween. A 14 track album will be released in various formats including CD and a limited edition 12-inch vinyl (with a download card). Sassy and how well can it do in a digital age?
