I wonder what Kayne West wants to prove exactly, why does he think he has become Lady Gaga recently? First the leather skirt at the MSG 12/12/12 concert and now this, during one of his three year-end shows in Atlantic City! People described it as a yeti mask, I am not sure I can tell, it could be anything, really. From where this video was shot, he looked like a 17th-century white marquis, a phantom of the opera going all auto-tune – I definitiely can’t stand this auto-tune business – or may be he was the beast without his beauty? It was pretty bizarre and quite unnecessary. And it wasn’t the only bizarre outfit he had, during his remix of Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ he was wearing an all-diamond-incrusted mask … this time the intention was totally visible of course but totally superfluous too.
Okay you’re gonna say, he is an artist, he can do whatever he wants,.. yes but doesn’t art need to have some intention, or otherwise, everything goes and so what? We are left with watching a banal zombie of carnival performing on stage.
But this video was seen more than 16,000 times in just one day, so I guess his little masquerade game is working.
