Screaming Females' Marissa Paternoster Explains Her Mysterious Illness With Some Awesome Comic Strip

This comic strip is just sooooo great, and literally born out of pain. You may remember that punk band Screaming Females had regrettably to cancelled their Autumn tour  after completing the support slot opening for Garbage. Frontgirl Marissa Paternoster was experiencing ‘severe chronic pain’ due to some mysterious illness, and I am not saying this because she doesn’t want to tell us what she was suffering from, no poor Marissa doesn't even know what she has.

The talented woman posted an update on the Screaming Females Blogspot this week, and rather than writing a blurb, she used a comic strip to explain what she went through during this past month: a muscular chronic pain in her arms, chest and neck that wasn’t going away, even waking her up in the middle of the night. It may be called ‘Thoracic Outlet Syndrome’…. She has seen every sort of healers on the planet from doctor to chiropractor and tried everything from acupuncture to holistic massage! But the pain is still there and may be due to a pressure exerted on her brachial plexus nerves going from the neck into the arm, it may probably be due to all that guitar playing, you can see that the comic strip is very detailed! However, there are no clinical tests to know if she suffers from this syndrome for sure, and since it was diagnosed by a chiropractor, I would not take the term too seriously if I were her! Marissa go see some real doctors!

Of course, we wish her a speedy recovery (Iman knows her and tells me she is very very nice) the band can’t reschedule its tour supporting the excellent 2012 album Ugly until she feels better, so we may have to wait a little bit despite the fact that we need more screaming females in this world! Go read the whole thing here.
