FIDLAR's New Video For Their 'Cheap Beer' Punk Anthem

I can’t get enough of these guys, their songs have lyrics with absolutely no substance or nuance (you can't get more direct than with 'I! Drink! Cheap! Beer! So! What! Fuck! You!'), and they make silly videos encouraging nonsense violence and irresponsible behavior, so it’s totally out of (my) character! But the music is damn great. There are tons of bands in Los Angeles, but FIDLAR have quite their punk-is-not-dead-moment right now, and I believe it will last longer than just a moment!

Their new video for their song ‘Cheap Beer’ is like a rush of adrenaline you get out of your chest in two minutes, while running for your life… With its reminiscence of The Cramps’ guitars and an infectious-stormy rhythm, the song is a multi-facet of influences, both pop-tune and wild-thrilling punk ride… meanwhile we follow a mad outlaw biker going after people who dare to drink expensive beer at home, terrorizing them and beating the hell (and beyond) of them. It’s insane and absurd, as excessive and bloody as their live shows, and it’s telling a lot about the anti-snob, anti-fashion nature of the band. After all this is a band who named their last EP after Charles Bukowski’ epitaph (‘Don’t Try’), so I should totally take back what I said at the beginning,…. No substance and no nuance really?

Watch the destructive video below, check out their debut album on January 22nd, and go see them before they become too big! They have predicted that in five years they will be ‘selling out Madison Square Garden for a month straight, and then the Hollywood Bowl’, or even adding that they will be playing ‘them on the same night.’ More cheap beer please!
