Watch Ty Segall Destroy Late and Morning TVs In The Same Month

Ty Segall is young and super prolific, he embodies furious rock revival and I know that because I saw him and his band live a few times. The night he played at the Echoplex, the energy went to the roof and there were more people jumping from the stage than divers jumping in an Olympic pool last summer in London.

He also made his TV debut this week on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and performed ‘Thank God for Sinners’ off his latest album ‘Twins’, doing some real rock’ n’ roll damage with his bandmates, through distortions of layered guitars, reverb raging vocals and a lot of hair in the face… he looked like a sort of guitar hero to the core, and Jack White has to get worried.

But earlier this month, Ty Segall made an apparition in morning TV as he appeared on WGN’s morning news program, but he took a much more punk-rock approach, playing ‘You’re the Doctor’, screaming repetitively ‘There’s a problem in my brain, Chicagoooo’,… he went totally insane with the sound, doing the kind of stuff you hear in a dark club around midnight, when everybody has had too many beers,… and this may have been a little too early for the three anchors who totally lost it, ‘Call a doctor, what’s going on?’ they said.

‘Twins’ is the band’s sixth studio album, but Ty Segall has already released tons of stuff, LPs, EPs, compilations, solos and I don't know what else, and he is only 25 years old! But he is certainly a force we have to reckon on.
