Hurray! More X The LA punk band who I have adored for a million years is on the road in celebration of their 35 anniversary “X-35 35th Anniversary Tour”, is almost done but there are dates out there so heads up. This final go round is part of their ‘yearly holiday run’.
When last I saw the band they were playing Los Angeles in its entirety and it was a brilliant thing. I actually got to speak to my idol Exene Cervanka and found her to be just as hot a ticket as she was ‘back in the day’ the girl is an inspiration. Upon seeing the band in the tiny Paradise Rock Club in Boston, I was back to day one with my love affair with X. Not only have they aged with angst they sound fantastic and John and Exenes voices still fit together like peanut butter and jelly. Pure perfection.
The band is now traveling with Rev. Horton Heat, The Father Figures and Scorpion vs. Tarantula. That’s a big bill. Rev Horton is a huge draw up here in the Northeast so if you haven’t seen them live this is a great way to do so.
X will cover the East Coast beginning with two nights at New York City’s Irving Plaza Nov. 30-Dec. 1 and then boom! Right back to the Paradise Rock Club on Sunday December 2. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. I found their live show exceeded my expectations and my expectations are honestly unreal.
