Harsh headline but hilarious story. I love Ronnie Radke, mostly cuz everyone else hates him but his pop hardcore band Falling in Reverse isn't so bad. The former Escape the Fate singer did some hard time in jail for attempted murder, finally gets out, starts a new band, beats up his girlfriend, and now.. well now he has single handedly caused Six Flag theme parks to no longer book 'metal' bands.
Radke whipped a mic stand at the crowd during a performance in New Jersey on last week. A 16 year old girl got it in the head requiring stitches. Radke was charged with simple assault and aggravated assault released on $25,000 bail.
But in response to this foolishness Six Flags Great Adventure released the following statement.
"This was the first metal show that we've ever had, and will be the last,"said Kristin Siebeneicher, spokeswoman for park. "We have no plans to host another metal show."
"This performer was completely reckless," said Siebeneicher. "He had complete disregard for the safety of his fans. His actions were totally unacceptable. It's not the type of entertainment that we want to be producing."
Falling in Reverse isn't a metal band but rather a victim of stereotyping. There are idiots in every genre to ban an entire category of rock and roll based upon the idiotic actions of a chronic offender is absurd.
