The beautiful Vaccines straight off the plane from the UK. I should pay more attention to them, they're everything I love. "Teenage Icon" performed here sounds so much like John Doe from X that if you shut your eyes you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
The Vaccines are a band that is somewhat under the wire. Not enough pizzazz to really claim the media bands like The Kooks or Wombats did, and its a damn shame cuz they have upbeat poppy melodies with a really quirky lyric. Jimmy has totally stolen late night music cool. Conan used to be the king but no more. Jimmy is just younger hipper and more entertaining. HIs band The Roots sorta suck but that's ok cuz it makes the guest look better.
Note the awkward closing thank you's as the band sorta tries to occupy the dead time. More would have been nice but hey- they just flew in. The bands newest album "Come of Age" is due out October 22. Jimmy states you can pre order but why pre order a digital? Again, where is the benefit?
This song is awesome and 50s inspired fun. The band appear as boning as an actual vaccine and who the hell is the little Amish girl just standing there?
