Three new Lana Del Rey songs have surfaced on Youtube, and according to different websites, the three tracks, entitled ‘Big Bad wolf’, ‘Playing Dangerous’ and ‘Afraid’ may be featured on her deluxe edition of her ‘Born To Die’ due this fall, although this is still unclear.
There is no big surprise though, ‘Big Bad Wolf’ is more of her lamenting childish-voice, in a sort of creepy Britney Spears style, layered with orchestral arrangements and beats vaguely reminiscent of hip hop, but nothing truly remarkable.
I thought that ‘Playing Dangerous’ was much worst, with a languished Lana playing her femme fatale for 3 or 4 minutes over a semi James Bond girl theme, whereas ‘Afraid’ has more synth beats contrasting with her super-high pitched and almost retro voice which seems to simper forever. At this point, these new tracks are not going to change anyone’s opinion, but fans are gonna jump in the air because these are three brand new songs after all.
I have a hard time taking the Del Rey princess seriously, she is just too much in the news for stuff unrelated to music. When she is not modeling for fashion brand H&M, she is launching a new Jaguar car – according to NME, she has signed a 6-figure deal to launch their F-type vehicle! She is so beyond the sell out stage at this point.
