Bon Iver Writes A Song For The Silver Lake Chorus

The Silver Lake Chorus is getting famous! I saw them performing a few times, and their large choral ensemble (they are 25) has been covering arrangements of indie music (or not that indie) since February 2010. All right, sometimes, all this sounds like an episode of Glee-goes-indie, but no I take it back, it’s much better than Glee.

They have a debut album in the making, and the list of songs are signed by some very impressive artists, just check it out:

Beck, Sia, Of Montreal, Aimee Mann, The Bird and the Bee, Tegan and Sara, Zooey Deschanel, Jon Brion, The New Pornographers and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver). As a matter of fact, Bon Iver’s track was recently posted on Pitchfork via Soundcloud, and you can listen to it below.

A two-song ‘Wreckage’ EP, produced by Ben Lee, will feature the song, called 'From the Snow Tipped Hills’, as well as another one written by New Pornographer A.C. Newman, and set to be released on September 18.

The song is a total trip… in winter, I mean it sounds like a sad Christmas song, the Chorus' a cappella arrangements are sure pretty, but they sound like church music,.. so it is only if you are into that kind of boisterous female-male vocals cascading onto one another.
