How far this thing can go? Coachella, Cruise-Coachella, and now Colbchella? No it’s a sort of joke of course. Stephen Colbert announced during his Tuesday edition of the Colbert Report that he will organize a super concert aboard the Intrepide Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City on August 10.
The ‘StePhest Colbchella ‘012: Rocktaugustfest’, you have to love the amalgam, will feature The Flaming Lips, fun., Grandmaster Flash, Grizzly Bear, and Santigold.
‘We are gonna rock the boat, which won't be easy because the Intrepid displaces 41,434 tons. Does Bonnaroo have cruise missiles? I think not.’ Said Colbert with his typical false-conservative excited tone.
So Colbert is big enough to host a festival on a boat now? Only 1,500 fans will get to see it, but if you can’t grab a ticket, performances and interviews by Colbert, will be shown during the week of August 13. Tickets are on sale on Colbert Nation, for ‘the greatest thing that has ever happened to the Hudson River’, and come on there are the Flaming Lips aboard!
