I never managed to catch the Streets Mike Skinner live, I had tix for his T5 farewell concert a coupla years back and he cancelled, one assumes due to mass indifference. His last two albums as the Streets were disappointing any way.
Now here comes news that Mike has formed a new band with the Music's Rob Harvey… and no, I don't know them either. but from Harvey has said don't expect any vicious distillations of the cost of fame rapped in a thick accent. Here is what Harvey said: "We'd both been in bands for 10 years and obviously Mike was really successful with what he did and I had a little bit of success with The Music boys but we were just bored of doing the same thing, so we just wanted to do something different.
"It's great because we're not tied to any contracts, it's just about doing something interesting. We've done 60 songs – some of them are straight pop songs, some are dancey."
I guess so, if he says so.
