The Cab's Alexander DeLeon Covers "Boyfriend"

If 'Hey Jude" could take a sad song and make it better then there is proof that Alex DeLeon can take a bad song and make it worse.

I blame the webcam.  Everyone shoving their mugs up in the circle and hitting record pretending they sound good.  Heres the deal- without some production and a sound guy, you sound like a whisper jive wanna be Timberlake.

The cover tune trend is out of hand- every pop punk alt whatever genre its called this week wave and the popularity of Punk Goes Pop must have something to do with it.

I also blame Keek but I also thank them for not allowing clips longer than 30 seconds.  We can all be rock stars and all you need is an internet connection. The Cab is one of those bands that get lumped up with others like The Maine  and such as B grade heard fillers that pack these mega lineup tours.  There is no real distinction and their popularity is based upon who has the cutest singer.  I have nothing against this teen scream scene, on the contrary I think its pretty fun.

Video snips such as this are what Tiger Beat valentines used to be 'back in the day'  just something for girls to squee over.   I suppose they will break in to this song when theyre on stage and the girls will sing along- and its all in good fun and its really horrible, but luckily very disposable.
