Whoa! See if you ignore growing pains in the end it all comes together. My love/hate for Christofer Drew and Nevershoutnever has gone on for years. I really want to like him but he's a kid, he's erratic, he is brilliant and he's an asshole.
From the twangy fresh faced love struck sexually neutral start, to the flower power hippie vegan, to the stoner hip chain smoker he was able to keep his mug in the news. A nice kid that we spoke to at Warped Tour but just a bit annoying.
Drew is back with Never Shout Never and a great tune called "Til The Sun Comes Up". The song showcases a nicer deeper tone in Drews voice and a fantastic nearly rockabilly sound. The thumpy bass keeps the song light, the lyrics are simplistic and up tempo. Wow, could this be his niche or is this just another toe dip into sound?
Regardless of all that, lets take Drew on a song by song basis and not try to analyze the mind of a 21 year old. I will say he is very talented, that he has miles to go before 'perfection' and that his silly side projects simply distract from what he should be doing, perfecting his craft. Then again, young minds are scattered- and so is he.
