You probably have heard about James Cameron’s intention to re-release his epic blockbuster, 'Titanic', in 3-D! He probably thought it was not big enough the first time around,… I’ll pass, thank you.
But the funny thing is that actress Kate Winslet is asked again about the movie in interviews, and she described to MTV news how she feels when she hears ‘My Heart Will Go On’, the Celine Dion’s anthem for the movie:
‘Like throwing up.’
‘No, I shouldn't say that. No, actually, I do feel like throwing up.’
She added to justify her reaction:
‘I wish I could say, 'Oh listen, everybody! It's the Celine Dion song!' But I don't, I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll.’
And she continued, explaining that people surprise her with the song all the time, in bars and restaurants, playing it when she walks in, even encouraging her to sing it! She added:
‘I did a talk show recently in Italy and they actually had a live pianist who started gently playing the theme song. I was not even gently, rather severely, urged to go and sing it as though I had in fact sung it myself in the first place. It was like, 'No! I'm not going to do that.' They're like, 'Oh no, come on it will be funny.' No, it won't be funny. At all. And I'm not going to.’
Poor Kate! I sympathize, I understand being sick about a song, but it certainly does not help it was the worst song in the world! Honestly, would she say this if it was a song she likes/liked? Can you be that disgusted about a song you enjoy in the first place? I don’t think so, I can’t imagine saying this about a song I appreciate, even after listening to it a million times. Does Kevin Costner say this about the Whitney Houston’s song? No!
Personally, I hate 'My Heart Will Go On' with a rare passion of course, it’s an atrociously melodramatic song with easy-listening music, blasting vocals and no redemption in sight in the-cornier-than-ever lyrics. So I say go Kate! It is your way to say to Celine Dion that you have always hated her cheesy song!
