It's Waynes World! A fabulous new song from The Arctic Monkeys and a nice dull but cute video to go along with them. Really there is nothing more fun than playing rock star in the car.
"R U Mine?" brings us back to the old Monkeys sound, with a tougher almost rock God guitar sound. Its a nice evolutionary sound. Merging the vocals that got fans hooked in the first place with music that sounds more full and more mature. The song title is silly though, where is Prince when you need him?
As for the video, it shows a nice playful side of a band who really hasn't flipped my wig in a long time. I could possibly renew my adoration for the band based on this song and video. Maybe, just maybe, they aren't lost in the celeb status after all.
This is not the best song of all time, this is not the most gripping video you will ever see, but it is wonderful. I am hopeful that the Arctic Monkeys will carry on in this direction and cut away from the crap they have been serving us lately.
