Downtown Lobby announced on Tuesday that two acts have canceled their Coachella appearance, something a little sad and worrisome especially for one of them.
La Roux posted this message on her website:
‘I’m gutted that we cannot play at my favourite festival. The show we played there in 2010 was one of the best I’ve ever done. Things are progressing well with the new record but I just don’t have the time to finish it AND prepare a new set for Coachella. If they’ll have us back we’d love to see you there.’
At least there is a concrete explanation, but on the other hand, there is absolutely nothing from the Cat Power’s camp, the second act to have been removed from the Coachella poster.
Of course, everybody is aware of her past, her erratic live performances and numerous cancellations, but I hope she is only canceling for the same reason than the other act: she is releasing a new album soon and needs more time.
I haven't found any other info anywhere else, but some people were talking about it on the Coachella message board. May be new info will appear in the following days.
Anyway, a lot of people are gonna be disappointed, if I were going, I would have been happy to see Cat Power; new artists may replace these two acts soon.
