Yesterday, Helen wrote about the new strangely-named family band, ‘The Boo’, as Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong has seemingly enrolled his whole family in this new adventure. Helen said she could not imagine anything good coming of this, well, let's see! On Tuesday, four tracks have surfaced on YouTube, ‘Little Silent Boy’, ‘I want revenge’, ‘Super Starship’ and ‘Wallflower’ uploaded by Sandra Evans, one of the few people who had the chance to get one of the 100 copies of the record dropped off at a record store in Oakland.
‘Little Silent Boy’ is just a punk-ed cover medley of Christmas songs, and I will pass on that one because who hasn’t done this before?
‘I want revenge’ is a sort of Ramoney fun-fast punk song, with mummy Adrienne Armstrong on vocals, daddy Billy Joe on bass and the two kids on drums and guitar. It’s simple, sure enjoyable, but bubbly and girlie like the color they chose for their CD (pink). It’s also retro enough to remind some catchy Go Go’s tunes. ‘Super Starship’ and the faster ‘Wallflower’ are in the same vein, straightforward old-school punk with the sound of an amateur band which has just started to practice.
It's official, the Green Day frontman has just joined a debutant girl band.
