It's always good to see a band rocknyc has covered get on to a big tour and it appears that Grieves and Budo have done just that. Fresh off the Jingle Ball, Travie and his Gym Class Heroes will headline on a 'Snowstorm Music Tour 2012'.
Dates are still to be announced but with the addition of the infamous T-Pain, this could be a pretty fun time. Interesting is the upbeat party music that GCH provide and the depth of emotion out of Grieves, its as if he's there to set up the crowd so Travie can be the Pied Piper of happy dust as the grand finale.
I have seen Gym Class Heroes live twice as part of that whole "Fueled By Ramen" label package. Each time they have been highly entertaining and energetic. Their song "Cupid's Chokehold" still gets consistent play time on my iPod, its a song that simply works. I haven't heard a great follow up to that one and nearly consider them one hit wonders in that regard- will they ever get that type of momentum back?
T-Pain, infamous for his auto tune, is a rapper with some angst. Another odd emotional pairing but none the less a big name to carry the tour with.
Congratulations to Grieves and Budo, now we can say we knew you before everyone else did.
