Its hard to believe it has been 30 years since we have heard from New Edition. there has been gossip of course, most notable that of Bobby Brown but there is no denying- this band was pretty darn fun. Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins, were last united at the 2011 Essence Fest but are planning more touring, including a big "blow out concert."
DeVoe told Billboard "2012 is going to be an incredible year for us. Of course, we want to get to the 40th and 50th, too, but we just feel like our road to the 30th is going to be special because all of these different things that are in front of us. It's just gonna be an incredible ride."
Wallets are low.
Should the band record it will be the first issue since 1996's "Home Again".
"There's definitely been discussion. We're on calls with each other weekly. Right now it's just about scheduling and timing and setting up who we'll be working with as far as producers and writers and locking down whatever the deal is — whatever label it's going to be or if it's going to be independent."- said DeVoe.
There is also plans for a DVD in conjunction with this 'blow out' concert. Stay tuned
Til then heres a blast from the past.
