I may not be a huge fan but I do admire Lady Gaga for the marketing genius that she is. She has sold herself to the outcasts and obtained almost Messiah like status with her 'Born This Way" mantra. Pure brilliance. Shes a very intelligent woman with a horrible speaking voice so this may actually be one of the niftiest things yet.
A Twitter dance party. Twitter gives you a false sense of bonding. At this moment I am best friends with Patrick Stickles, Billy Idol, Dennis Lee and Mike Shea of AltPress- all because of Twitter. I know everything about them right down to what they're watching on TV. So imagine how cool it was for the Gaga-lites to get the following
'Listening to highway unicorn. anyone interested in partaking in a twitter dance party? get your hot rods ready to rumble (sic)!' she tweeted.
And so it began. Gaga tweeted her tunes and her minions womped it with her, she even gave cues such as making a makeshift dry ice effect with a hot shower running- here are some excerpts:
'ok now the edge of glory fist pumping and pretending I'm lita ford,' she wrote. 'turn the shower on for fogging effect (sic)!'
'Ok now BORN THIS WAY! Side ponytails and neckties? Climbing out from underneath a chair pretending its a vessel. Don't be a drag (sic)!' she typed.
'Ok, now lets close it out with Marry The Night,' she enthused. 'Pretend your bed is a Trans Am. I am too love you (sic).'
Lady Gaga is 25 years old. At the moment she owns the world. Its innovative and fun ideas like this that could potentially shield her from any crap recordings- if only temporarily.
