Lennon's Tooth Revealed!!!

Helen wrote about this yesterday and here is the physical proof. The last physical remain of Jonh Lennon…

You don't know the story? Let's retrace it staring here:

This is the most wonderful and weird item that we have ever had for sale’, declared Karen Fairweather of Omega Auctions to the BBC, ‘It is a truly unique item and it is really difficult to put a value on it.’
‘We are expecting it to achieve at least £10,000 but it is not unknown for these items as rare as this to reach six figures.’

Wonderful? I doubt, weird? Certainly, as she is talking about John Lennon’s tooth which is expected to sell for $16,000 at an auction in England next November 5th. According to the BBC, Lennon had given his tooth to his housekeeper, Dot Jarlett, in the late 60s, and learning that her daughter was a Beatles fan, told her to give it her as a souvenir.

It’s a weird story, it may be true, who knows? But it sounds so strange he donated his tooth like this, and can they even be sure it’s really Lennon’s tooth? Did they do a DNA test or something? Well the BBC says that ‘it comes with an affidavit signed by Mrs Jarlett who has previously sold items including the jacket worn by John Lennon on the Rubber Soul album’.

So what are the weirdest items in rock’ n’ roll memorabilia? Oh, there are a lot of them, you have the pill bottle series:
– A Elvis Presley’s empty prescription bottle of Benadryl from 1977 was sold for $800 at a Las Vegas auction in 2009
– A Jerry Garcia’s empty prescription bottle was sold in 2005

The food items:
– Britney Spears’ leftovers of a sandwich and corn dog were sold on eBay in 2006
– Justin Timberlake's leftovers of French toasts were sold for $1,025 on eBay in 2000.
– Britney Spears’ gum was put up for auction on eBay (this is hard to believe I know!) According to different websites, it was either sold for $14,000 or removed because it contained her DNA and violated the law?

The hair items:
– A lock of Elvis Presley's hair was sold in $115,000 at a Chicago auction in 2002.
– Justin Bieber’s locks were sold for $40,000!

Also sold:
– Cher’s bra in Las Vegas in 2007
– Ozzy Osbourne’s keys to his squad bike in 2007
– A signed wooden spoon that had belong to Lennon and Yoko Ono
– A toaster who had been given to Elton John as a wedding present in 1984

But I have to admit, body parts, like the tooth, are the creepiest ones.
