Ravenheart was born from the flames of a group of friends totally dedicated to the metal lifestyle', so the band descrivbes itself in their Reverbnation site. I may have asked what the hell is going on in New Jersey but across the pond is another uprising, this one in Wales. You think that only Tom Jones was from there? The land of "Whats New Pussycat" has three gruff metal men with one of the most dangerous vocalists I've heard in awhile.
Melodic in every way with tempo enough to give you whiplash if youre not careful, Ravenheart are making a ruckus. You have to love a band that scares you. These guys are dangerous but in a good way. I love the old wave sort of tinny sound, makes me want to wear a black trenchcoat. '
Best song? "Wanna Be Playboy", I dont know what it is about it but its addictive and fun and really disturbing. These contradictions are most likely what I find so appealing. That and the fact that the volume alone sent my speakers skanking across my desk- no lie, they dug it.
Sean-Lead guitarist, Ants-Bass guitarist, Duncan-Vocals and rhythm guitar, Lynn-Drummer, make old school metal in a new school world. Considering the nu-metal wave happening right now you cant help but want to embrace the real deal. This isnt your top 40 sanitzed metal youre being spoonfed here in the States. This is the metal that make you feel the need to hide it under covers like evil contraband.
I love its complete irreverence and filthy vibe.
I do feel bad for the farmlands of Wales though…so much for the peaceful vistas…
