The 2011 FYF fest had definitively many punk acts, even hardcore ones like Title Fight who played just before OFF!. As I was approaching a stage where they were doing the setting for another band, I saw the giant clouds of dust that were rising above the crowd as soon as the Pennsylvanian quartet started playing and I decided to watch the rest of their set.
First of all they looked very young (they looked they were in their teens!) but nevertheless very confident on stage, doing a lot of jumping around, putting on a quite aggressive and dynamic show. Of course people were moshing and kicking, it was a wild scene to see that early in the afternoon.
With heavy riffs, aggressive enough guitars, a very fast punk drumming and some more melodic slowing downs to make the next outbursts of rage even more obvious, their music was partially reminiscent of other bands I had already heard, although I must say I am far from being a hardcore expert!
Singer Ned Russin, who was also playing bass, was nervously shouting his vocals, then the music would go into a sort of sluggish emotional hardcore before starting again, more furious than ever.
So I am way passed the age of that teenager angst they seemed to incarnate with a lot of intensity, but I may be able recognize some growing potential when there is some.
